REGITZE OVERGAARD (1946- )
Goldsmith Regitze Overgaard works from the theory that jewelry should be as simple as possible so that the power is in the metal. She concentrates on form and materials. Her jewelry has volume and weight but is at the same time made with an apparent lightness giving it an elegant balance. In her new, very popular, Magic jewelry collection she combines different materials but ultimately permits the customer to determine how they are used in particular rings. The base ring of 18K white or yellow gold leaves room in the middle to allow for a smooth gold hammered band or a gold band with diamonds or a black rubber ring. The design allows for considerable personal choice.
Regtize Overgaard finished training as a goldsmith in 1970 and graduated from the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts in 1976. She has collaborated with Georg Jensen Silversmiths since 1987 and has taken part in many exhibitions.
